Facts about RHCF

RHCF’s mission is focused on providing support for urban poor and homeless women and children in Addis Ababa as well as for the rural community of Debre Musa

Founded in 1996 by Weyenshet Shiferaw

Founding Board Member Rita Franciosa made the first donation to the organization

Rainbow Humanitarian Caretaker Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization recognized by the IRS under section 501@ (3). It’s designated identification # is 95-4703584.

RHCF provides for many women and children in the capital city of Addis Ababa. We reach out to the mothers by supporting and encouraging them in their struggles with HIV, poverty and hopelessness. By means of sponsorship, the children are able to pay for schooling, uniforms, supplies, beds, and food. Sponsorship dollars for this urban program have been received through donors at Children Inc.

RHCF is now focusing on outreaching to the needy countryside of Debre Musa in 2008. We are in the initial process of developing an improved educational program and efficient farming practices. We will build a school, health clinic, volunteer housing facility and a farm; on land the government of Ethiopia has graciously supplied us with.

There are many ways RHCF is trying to improve the life of women and children in Ethiopia. Our activities are completely dependent on private funds, primarily through fundraising with individual donors and churches. Please help us continue our mission through your tax deductible financial contribution.

The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
